  • Connect with UU social organizations (MUUSJA in Minnesota and WUUSAN in Wisconsin) and share their information with SCUUF
  • Create partnerships with similar or other organizations doing the work to address social issues
  • Determine individual & collective actions that can be taken
  • Support one another
  • Use the SCUUF Rapid Response texting tool when appropriate

SCUUF Rapid Alert/Response Texting Program

The SCUUF Rapid Alert/Response texting project was started two years ago and is being updated. The project’s goal is to reach people via texting to alert them to an immediate concern or issue. We currently have two lists.

  1. The first list includes folks who want a text alert when we cancel services due to weather conditions, illness, or other unforeseen problems.
  2. The second list includes folks who receive a text message to alert them to a particular social justice issue where we need a rapid response. We plan to utilize this list for immediate needs of the immigrant community in Polk County. A text will be sent identifying a specific need and who to contact to help. If you are available and can help, you contact the person identified in the message, if you are not available to help, you just ignore the text. The contact identified in the texting message will be a Los Amigos volunteer, not someone in need of help.

If you want to be added to either list or just want to make sure you are on the list, send an email to stcroixuufellowship@gmail.com.
